Planning Department


We currently contract with Bureau Veritas for most of the City's high volume of residential and commercial building inspections. We also contract with CURT Services for all of the City's fire inspections and fire plan reviews. ALL permits and applications are processed through the Planning Department at 405 Main Street, Sealy, Texas and all other site plans, development plans, and code compliance reviews are performed by City Staff or the City's Engineer. 

The Planning Department is responsible for Community Development, Code Enforcement, and Permitting and Inspection activities.

  • Coordinating Planning Commission Meetings
  • Coordinating 9-1-1 Addressing (All addresses for structures or proposed structures within City Limits begins with the Community Development Coordinator)
  • Code Enforcement (See Building & Inspection)
  • Residential and commercial plat reviews (Preliminary Plats, Final Plats, Minor Plats, Replats/Resubdivision Plats, Amending Plats, Lot Consolidation, and Lot Adjustment)
  • Residential and commercial land development reviews (Neighborhood Land Plans and Drainage Plans)
  • Infrastructure plan reviews
  • Long-range planning
  • Variance Requests
