Child Safety Zones

In May 2021, the City of Sealy adopted certain sex offender residency restrictions and other restrictions related to same ( i. e. prohibition of entrance into city parks) to protect the welfare of the citizens and the public.  It shall be unlawful for any person who is required by law to register on the department of public safety's sexual offender database because of a violation involving a victim or an intended victim who was 17 years of age or younger, to have a residence within 2, 000 feet of any "child area".  Property owners are also prohibited from renting to these sexual offenders.  For specific details, definitions and exclusions:  read the ordinance in Chapter 66, Article IV of the City of Sealy Ordinances.
