SEALY HISTORICAL PARK
The Sealy Historical Park contains numerous antique buildings and pieces related to Sealy's history which dates back to 1879.  Visit the Santa Fe Park Museum and let the interpretive signs illuminate the exhibits as you walk the historical park streetscape.  Contact the Sealy Area Historical Society for more information.

SAN FELIPE DE AUSTIN STATE HISTORIC SITE
Sealy sits on 11,635 acres purchased in 1875 by the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe line, which were part of the original 22,000 acre tract of land granted to Stephen F. Austin. To preserve the site's important role in Texas history, a world-class $12 million museum facility was constructed in 2018, and a recreated block of the original town called "Villa de Austin," where kids can learn and play, opened in 2022. The museum features the field desk of Stephen F. Austin--widely acknowledged as the "Father of Texas"--and utilizes technology and visual displays to tell the story of the settlement. The annual "Father of Texas Day" in November is known to include a site dig conducted by archaeologists. The facility also hosts seasonal exhibits showcasing Texas history. Contact the museum for more information.
